General Description of SHD-GC Type Mining Cable, 2 kV, 5 kV, 8 kV, 15 kV, 25 kV

Multi-conductor cable consisting of three flexible, tinned soft copper conductors with individual thermosetting ethylene propylene (EPR) insulation, an electrostatic shield based on a braided mesh composed of tinned soft copper wires, and colored cotton threads for phase identification. It features two bare neutral conductors made of tinned soft copper and a ground check conductor insulated with yellow thermosetting material, appropriate fillers to create a circular cross-section, and a thermosetting outer sheath made of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE).

SHD-GC mine cables are used to supply electrical power to substations and portable equipment such as mechanical shovels, dredges, drilling equipment, power distribution in underground mines, etc.

• The conductors are made of soft, tinned copper in a flexible construction, in gauges from 13.3 to 253.4 mm2 (6 AWG to 500 kcmil).
• The ethylene propylene (EPR) insulation contributes to the cable’s flexibility. Flexible electrostatic shield.
• Textile reinforcement in the jacket gives the cable greater mechanical strength.
• Extra heavy duty chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) outer sheath, resistant to mechanical abuse (tearing and abrasion), oils, acids, and alkalis.
• Resistant to flame propagation. The outer sheath is black.
