General Description of MP-GC type mine cables

Multi-conductor cable consisting of three soft copper conductors, with a semiconducting conductor shield, thermoset ethylene propylene (EPR) insulation, a semiconducting insulation shield, and an individual electrostatic shield based on soft copper tapes. It features two bare soft copper neutral conductors and a ground check conductor insulated with yellow thermoset material, appropriate fillers to create a circular cross-section, and a thermoset chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) outer sheath.

• Type MP-GC EPR-CPE mine cables are used to supply electrical power to semi-portable mine equipment or for fixed installations within mines.
• They are suitable for use in horizontal underground sections, in ducts or directly buried, in overhead installations, and for other installations in heavy industry in general.

Features of MP-GC type mine cables

• Maximum operating voltage: 5,000 to 15,000 V. Maximum operating temperature: 90°C.
• The conductors are made of soft copper in gauges ranging from 13.3 to 253.4 mm2 (6 AWG to 500 kcmil). Electrostatic shielding based on copper tapes.
• Extra heavy-duty chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) outer sheath, highly resistant to mechanical abuse (tearing and abrasion), oils, acids, and alkalis.
• Phase conductors are identified by means of semiconducting lettered tapes. Resistant to flame propagation.
• The outer sheath is black.
