THHN/THWN/TW/THW Cable
Type THHN/TTHWNTHWN-2 building wire is designed for general purpose applications as defined by the National Electrical Code (NEC). Type THHN/THWN/THWN-2 is permitted for new construction or rewiring for 600-volt applications. For applications requiring Type THHN or THWN-2, the conductor is suitable for use in damp or dry locations at temperatures not to exceed 90°C or not to exceed 75°C in oil or coolants. For applications requiring Type MTW, the conductor is suitable for use in dry locations at 90°C or not to exceed 60°C in damp locations or where exposed to oils or coolants.

TTU-type conductors (0.6, 2 kV) are stranded and constructed of AA-8000 aluminum alloy. They are also insulated with a uniform layer of moisture- and heat-resistant polyethylene (PE) thermoplastic material, over which a protective polyvinyl chloride (PVC) cover is applied. They are always supplied in black and in various packaging options.
